Bothwell, Lanarkshire born centre half Mike Nimmo began his football career with Glasgow Ashfield, from where he joined Scottish League club Hamilton Academical in 1919. After a season with The Accies he was signed by Lancashire Combination club Barrow in August 1920, and when they joined the new Third Division (North) a year later, Nimmo played in their inaugural League match against Stockport County in August 1921. Nimmo had two seasons of League football at Holker Street, scoring twice in 57 matches before joining Kent League club Chatham in 1923, his last known club.
