Description

Portobello, Edinburgh born wing half Colin McKay started his football career with Denbeath Star in 1914 and started his senior career with Cowdenbeath a year later. After a spell with Raith Rovers in 1916 he joined Heart of Midlothian, but after the end of the First World War he headed south to join First Division Sheffield Wednesday. He made his Football League debut at Arsenal in December 1919, scoring 3 goals in 14 appearances in what would prove a relegation season for The Wednesday.

He moved to Huddersfield Town in the close season of 1920 but he was largely a fringe player, scoring twice in 18 appearances over his two seasons at Leeds Road. A move to Second Division Bradford City followed in 1922, where he scored 4 goals in 26 appearances over two more seasons before joining Welsh League club Aberavon in 1924.
