Description
Dumfries born outside right Tom MacIntyre began his senior football career after the end of the First World War with North Eastern League club Carlisle United, from where he signed for Third Division (South) club Exeter City in August 1920, making his Football League debut against Norwich City at the start of September. He wasn’t recalled until after the new year and made 5 appearances across the course of the season before a move to Crewe Alexandra in June 1921.
At Gresty Road he appeared regularly and although he only scored in two matches, 4 of his 5 goals came in a 7-3 win over Darlington in April 1922. After 23 matches for The Railwaymen he again moved on to Wigan Borough in June 1922, where he scored twice in 7 matches for the Springfield Park club, joining Chesterfield in June 1923, where he made just 4 appearances across their 1923-24 campaign before leaving professional football.
