Possibly the father of the identically named Bob McFarlane who also played for Queen’s Park as well as Partick Thistle after the First World War, information on the older Bob McFarlane is patchy, although he appears to have been a forward who later played centre half. He played for Clyde before joining Queen’s Park for their 1891-92 campaign and stayed several seasons with The Spiders, his last season being 1896-97. In 1896 he played for The Glasgow F.A. in the annual challenge match with The Sheffield F.A. at Bramall Lane. Full biography to follow.
