Description
Kilbirnie, Ayrshire born winger Johnny Lang played junior football for Govan in 1900 and Co-operative United of Glasgow in 1901. He joined Second Division Barnsley in 1902, and made his Football League debut against Stockport County in September 1902, scoring 5 goals in 18 appearances before being signed in January 1903 by First Division Sheffield United. For the most part of his time at Sheffield United he was a fringe player, although in 1904-05 he made 33 appearances. and in his final season, 1908-09, he made 26 appearances. He scored 13 goals in 105 appearances during his 6 years at Bramall Lane before joining Leicester City in the summer of 1909. He made 17 appearances, scoring twice at Filbert Street before joining non league Denaby United in 1910.
