Burnbank, Lanarkshire born full back Jasper Kerr started in junior football with Burnbank Athletic in 1921 and Larkhall Athletic in 1922 before joining Bathgate in 1923, from where he was signed by First Division Everton in December 1923. He made his Football League debut at Blackburn Rovers in December 1924 and it was only in September 1926 that he had any sort of a run in the team, but when it came (18 of his 21 Everton appearances followed as well as his single goal for them), he was soon the subject of transfer interest and he was signed by Preston North End in March 1927. Over the next 6 years he played 123 times for Preston, before returning to Merseyside to join New Brighton in July 1933. He had a single season on the Wirral, making 12 appearances, before joining Lancaster Town in 1934.
