Description

Lanchester, County Durham born winger Albert Kerr began his football career with Lanchester CRC in 1933, and played for Gateshead Colts in 1934 and Medomsley Juniors in 1935 before joining Second Division Aston Villa in July 1936, making his Football League debut at Swansea Town that August. He played 9 times in his debut season and only 3 times as Villa gained promotion in 1937-38, but had a run in the team in 1938-39, scoring 4 goals in the First Division, before the advent of the Second World War seriously disrupted his career. After the War he returned to Villa Park and played twice in the 1946 FA Cup, and once in the 1946-47 League campaign before retiring after 31 appearances for The Villains.
