Barrhead, Renfrewshire born inside right Archie Kean began his football career with Parkhead Juniors and played for Croy Celtic from where he signed for Second Division club Clapton Orient in 1921, making his Football League debut against Bury that August, playing 11 times for The O’s during the season. He joined Lincoln City in the 1922 close season and was an ever present for the following two seasons, scoring 11 goals in 78 matches for The Imps. He was signed by First Division club Blackburn Rovers and spent 1924-25 at Ewood Park but didn’t get a first team opportunity, and joined Midland League club Grantham at the end of the season, his last recorded club.
