Description

Tipton, Staffordshire born left half Charlie Harbridge had played for the Civil Service Strollers and The Corinthians before the First World War, and, still an amateur, he joined Reading after the conflict ended, making his Football League debut at Queens Park Rangers in September 1920 and playing regularly from February 1921. In total he played 19 times for Reading, before joining Charlton Athletic for the following season, making 6 appearances for The Addicks during the autumn of 1921.

He represented Great Britain at the 1920 Olympic Games, playing in their defeat by Norway in Antwerp, and also won 4 England Amateur international caps between November 1919, when he made his debut in a 5-0 win over Ireland at The Baseball Ground, Derby and April 1920, when he played in a 5-0 win in France at Rouen.
