Deepcar, Sheffield born centre forward Allan Hall began his football career with Park Labour in 1924 and was signed by Third Division (North) club Doncaster Rovers in 1926, making his Football League debut at Wrexham that October. He bagged 4 goals in 8 appearances in his debut season and following 18 goals in a further 25 matches for Donny the next campaign, he was signed by First Division Middlesbrough in March 1928, although he played only twice before the end of the season, scoring on his debut in a 4-2 win over Huddersfield Town, as ‘Boro were relegated.

He only played twice the following season as George Camsell let loose on the goalscoring trail, Middlesbrough winning the Second Division Championship, and he moved on to Bradford City in the summer of 1930, for whom he scored 4 goals in 11 appearances during 1930-31.

Joining Lincoln City in the 1931 close season, Hall lit the blue touch paper, scoring an incredible 46 goals in 45 appearances as The Imps won the Third Division (North) Championship, Hall scored 4 goals in a 7-0 win over Southport in November 1931 and also hat-tricks against Chester, Darlington and Crewe Alexandra. The following season in the Second Division he remained prolific, bagging 23 goals in 33 appearances before being signed by First Division Tottenham Hotspur in the 1933 close season.

He appeared only twice for Spurs either side of the 1934 New Year before joining Second Division Blackpool in March 1934, for whom he scored 5 goals in his first 5 matches including a debut goal in a 1-1 draw with Bolton Wanderers. But after 10 goals in 17 appearances for The Seasiders he joined non league Gainsborough Trinity in the summer of 1935, where he later finished his career.
