Farnham, Hampshire born right half Frank Grendon signed for Southern League club Queens Park Rangers in 1914 but his career there was greatly affected by the onset of the First World War which forced the suspension of peacetime football in May 1915. After the War he signed for newly elected Football League club Northampton Town, and played 35 matches during their inaugural League season albeit he wasn’t selected for their opening match. His two seasons at The County Ground saw him make 42 appearances for The Cobblers, before he joined non league Rushden Town in 1922.
