Description

Preston, Lancashire born left winger Tommy “Toby” Green began his football career after the First World War with Leyland in 1919, and played for Hamilton Central the same year and for Dick Kerr’s XI in 1920f before joining First Division hometown club Preston North End, for whom he made his Football League debut, and only first team appearance, against Bradford City in a 1-1 draw in May 1921 on the last day of the 1920-21 season. After a further season in the reserves at Deepdale he joined Southport in the 1922 close season and played 9 games for them from August to November 1922 before losing his place. He returned to play for for Dick Kerr’s XI in 1925 and joined Colne Town in 1926 before his eventual retirement from the game.
