William Gould, was born in Ayr in September 1892, and kept goal for famous Scottish amateur club Queens Park immediately after World War One. He made his Queens Park debut against Third Lanark in January 1920 but only played once more that season. The following season he made the Queens goalkeeping jersey his own, making 40 appearances in League and Cup matches. In the summer of 1921 he signed for Glasgow Rangers but he could not unseat Willie Robb from the goalkeeping gloves, and had seemingly left the club by the following summer.
