Description

Stane Shotts, Lanarkshire born right half Jimmy Geddes started his football career with junior clubs East Benhar Heatherbell in 1917 and Shotts United in 1918 before joining Dykehead in 1919, also playing for Beith the same year. In May 1920 he moved on to St Mirren where he played 3 matches for The Buddies, and then to Albion Rovers in May 1921, staying 6 years at the club before joining Third Division (South) Bristol City and their famous ex Scottish international manager Alex Raisbeck in 1926, making his debut in an FA Cup tie at Merthyr Town in a 2-0 victory that November.

Although City won the Section Championship that season, Geddes only featured 6 times, and the following season in the Second Division only twice more, although he did score in a defeat at Oldham Athletic in January 1928. He returned to Scotland playing first with Greenock Morton in 1929 and then with Brechin City in 1930, moving finally to Forfar Athletic in 1931 before his eventual retirement.
