Description
Camlachie, Glasgow born winger Partick Gallacher began his senior football career with Tottenham Hotspur, for whom he featured in a Western League match at Brentford in April 1905. He then played in the Southern League for Luton Town before returning north of the border in 1907, joining Partick Thistle, for whom he scored once in 32 appearances in 1907-08. He then joined Welsh club Ton Pentre in 1908 and finished his career with Lancashire Combination clubs Workington and Barrow.
Gallacher fought as a private with the 17th (Service) Battalion of the Duke of Cambridge’s Own Middlesex Regiment (more popularly known as the 1st Football Battalion) during the First World War. By May 1917, Gallacher was the trainer of the battalion’s football team.
