Oldham born inside forward Vince Foweather signed for Crewe Alexandra in 1919, at that time a Central League club, before joining First Division Oldham Athletic in June 1920, making his debut in an FA Cup tie at Brighton & Hove Albion in January 1921 in a 4-1 defeat. He scored in a 2-0 win over Manchester City but only played 6 times for Oldham that spring. In May 1922 he joined Rochdale but his spell at Spotland was even more brief, a goal against Accrington Stanley in February 1923 on his last outing of 4 in Dale’s stripes, before he moved to non league Macclesfield in 1923. He also played for Stalybridge Celtic and Lancaster Town.
