Blaina, Monmouthshire born left back Ted Dimmick began his football career with Blaina before the First World War, and after the conflict he joined Abertillery in 1919, playing for north eastern clubs Houghton Rovers in 1920 and Lambton Star in 1921 before signing for Third Division (South) club Newport County in the 1922 close season, making his Football League debut at Bristol Rovers that August.
Consistent during his time at Somerton Park, he represented The Welsh League against their Irish counterparts and made 91 appearances for The Ironsides before returning to Abertillery in late 1925. He returned to Football League action when he joined Chesterfield in the summer of 1926, and played in their opening 3 fixtures of the 1926-27 season before losing his place, his career after leaving The Spireites is uncertain.
