Inverness born goalkeeper Jock Denoon had played for Highland League Inverness Thistle before joining Chelsea where he didn’t play a first team game in the 1909-10 season. Returning to Scotland he joined Motherwell in 1911 before moving back to England to join Southern League Norwich City in 1914. After World War One he joined Swansea Town making his Football League debut for them against Queen’s Park Rangers in October 1920 aged 30. He spent the next 7 seasons in the Swansea goal playing 28 games as they won the Division 3 (South) Championship in 1925 and continuing to play for the first team until March 1927, including playing 7 games in their Cup run that saw them lose to eventual winners Bolton Wanderers in the FA Cup Semi – Final at White Hart Lane. In the summer of 1927, after 197 appearances for The Swans, he moved to non league Mid-Rhondda United.
