Description
Mansfield born wing half Jimmy Daws had been an amateur on Notts County’s books but joined Birmingham City from Mansfield Town, whom he’d joined in 1919, making his Birmingham debut at Stoke in November 1920, playing 11 games as they won the Second Division Championship and promotion. In four seasons at Birmingham, however, he struggled to get a regular berth in the side and when he moved to Bristol Rovers in 1924 he had scored once in 46 appearances for The Blues. He made 33 appearances for Rovers in 1924-25 before going back into non league football with Mansfield Woodhouse and Poole.
