Description
Ardrossan, Ayrshire born centre forward Robert Cook began his football career with Ardrossan Winton Rovers before the outbreak of the First World War, and after the War he joined Scottish League club Kilmarnock in 1919, moving to Galston in 1920. He moved to Third Division (North) club Chesterfield in the 1921 close season, making his Football League debut against Nelson that October, but made only 6 appearances in 1921-22 before a move to Merthyr Town the next summer. He had a single season at Penydarren Park but made only 5 first team appearances before leaving professional football in 1923.
