Lairg, Sutherlandshire born inside or outside right David Christie played university football at Edinburgh University before he joined Glasgow amateur club Queen’s Park, then playing in the Scottish League First Division, making his debut against Falkirk in August 1937, scoring 12 goals in 68 Scottish League and Cup appearances through to May 1939. Described at the time as “a natural footballer… tricky, strong in possession, crosses well”.
