Description
Centre forward William Brown began his football career with Clyde in 1893 and played for Thornliebank in 1894 before joining First Division Preston North End. He made his Football League debut and solo appearance for The Lilywhites in a 1-1 draw with Burnley in October 1895, before moving to Southern League Tottenham Hotspur later in 1895, scoring 8 goals in 23 appearances for Spurs. He moved to Second Division Lincoln City in the summer of 1896, making a single appearance for The Imps in a 2-0 home defeat to Loughborough in October 1896. The remainder of his career is unclear.
