Description

Kilwinning born full back Robert Brown began his football career with Kilwinning Rangers from where he signed for Glasgow Rangers in 1910, making his Scottish League debut against St Mirren in August 1910. He made 31 appearances for Rangers over four seasons before joining Stevenston United in 1914 on loan, playing a further 15 matches for Rangers after his return.

Brown was loaned to Dumbarton in 1914-15 and then signed for Third Lanark in 1915, where he was a regular for four seasons making 117 appearances for The Warriors before joining Greenock Morton in 1919. The highlight of his Morton career was when he played at left back in the 1922 Scottish Cup Final, when Morton beat Glasgow Rangers 1-0 in front of 75,000 spectators at Hampden Park. He scored 3 goals in 131 appearances for Morton before joining Kilmarnock in 1923, where he played three more seasons scoring 5 goals in 49 matches before his retirement.
