Description

Nottingham born right half Charlie Bramley began his football career with Nottingham Jardines Athletic in 1888, playing for Notts St John’s in 1889 and Notts Rangers in 1890 before joining hometown League club Notts County, making his Football League debut against Stoke in September 1891. He stayed with the club after their relegation to the Second Division in 1893, and was part of their team that won the 1894 FA Cup Final, when a Jimmy Logan hat-trick helped beat Bolton Wanderers 4-1 at Goodison Park.

Bramley was an ever present the following season as the club finished Second Division runners up in 1895, missing out on promotion in the Test matches, and won the Second Division Championship with The Magpies two seasons later, although he made only one further appearance in the top flight in a defeat to Bolton Wanderers in November 1897 before retiring having scored 8 goals in 142 appearances for The Magpies.
