Description

Clayton, Manchester born right half Jimmy Bradley began his senior football career with Manchester City after the First World War, but didn’t manage to make their first eleven, leaving Hyde Road to join Chesterfield in June 1923. He made his Football League debut against Wolverhampton Wanderers the same August in Chesterfield’s opening game of the season, but he was discarded after 8 matches at the start of October and played only one game for The Spireites in an FA Cup tie at Grimsby Town that December before a transfer to Wigan Borough in May 1924.

However he had no opportunities at Springfield Park until April 1925, when he played 3 matches in the space of four days, scoring his only career goal in a home win over Barrow. He joined Crewe Alexandra in June 1925, again losing his place in September after 6 early season appearances and playing 3 more matches at the end of the season, but again he was not retained and moved to non league Colwyn Bay in the 1926, joining Ashton National (now Hyde United) in 1927 before his eventual retirement.
