Gateshead born inside forward Curtis “Tommy” Booth joined Newcastle in November 1913 from Wallsend Elm Villa, and made his debut in September 1914 against Sheffield Wednesday. He played for Newcastle both sides of WW1 before joining new Football League club Norwich City in September 1920 after 6 goals in 34 games for The Magpies. Over 3 seasons at Norwich he scored 13 goals in 65 games, and then joined Accrington Stanley as player manager for the 1923-24 season, where he only played one game and was in charge for exactly a year, winning 18 of his 45 games in charge.
