Carlton, Yorkshire born wing half George Addy began his football career with Carlton Victoria in 1914 but didn’t play senior football until after the First World War, joining Second Division Barnsley in 1919 and making his Football League debut, and only appearance for The Tykes, against Stockport County that October. He joined new Football League club Norwich City in the 1920 close season and played in their inaugural League match at Plymouth Argyle that August, scoring 5 goals in 28 appearances during their first League season. However he scored only once more in 5 games in 1921-22 and these proved his last in the professional game.
