Description

Walsall born left winger Billy Law began his football career with Rushall Olympic in 1901 from where he joined Coventry City in August 1902, and subsequently Walsall in August 1903. A year later, in June 1904, he went to play in East Yorkshire for Second Division Doncaster Rovers. He made his Football League debut against Lincoln City in September 1904, scoring 2 goals in 27 games, but Doncaster lost their League status at the year end, and Law moved to West Bromwich Albion in June 1905.

He made 10 League appearances for Albion during December and January, notably during which they were never beaten, although he was also in their FA Cup team that were knocked out at eventual Cup winners Everton, but after 11 appearances he again moved, this time joining Southern League Watford in May 1906, where he scored 7 goals in 66 appearances over the next 2 seasons and was very much a fixture of the team. In May 1908 he joined Queen’s Park Rangers, before a return to the Football League in May 1909 when he joined Glossop. He had 5 seasons at Glossop, scoring 4 times in 97 appearances before retiring in 1914.
