Description

Cheadle born wing half Dave Rogers started playing football with Hollinwood Amateurs  before joining Stockport County in August 1910 and spending a year at Edgeley Park without making their first eleven. He then played Army football with Bulford Camp in 1911 and The 38th Brigade Royal Field Artillery before joining Southern League Swindon Town in 1913, playing 4 matches for them before the First World War, and resuming with them in June 1919, scoring 15 goals in 36 appearances during their final Southern League season in 1919-20, and playing in their inaugural Football League fixture against Luton Town in August 1920. He played 6 seasons of League football for Swindon, scoring in all 27 goals in 182 appearances for them in all competitions before joining Gillingham in July 1926. His 2 seasons at Priestfield produced 61 more appearances before he joined non league High Street Working Mens Club in 1927.
