Dundee born full back Willie Brown started with Dundee North End in 1919 before joining hometown professional club Dundee the same year, moving to Wales to play for Porth and Llanelly between 1920 and 1923 before moving to Rochdale in May 1923, making his Football League debut against Durham City that August. He was a virtual ever present for 4 seasons and by the time he joined Torquay United in June 1928 he’d made 187 appearances for ‘Dale. At Torquay he played a single season making 19 appearances before joining Irish League Dundalk in 1929.
