Bruno, near Wrexham born goalkeeper Ted Husbands started his career at Liverpool but didn’t play for their first eleven. He joined Birmingham & District League club Wrexham in the 1908 close born goalkeeper, with whom he played 58 matches ove two seasons at The Racecourse Ground and won The Welsh Cup in 1909 and 1910 before a transfer to Cardiff City. He was one of the original Southern League Second Division players for Cardiff City when the club joined the League in 1910, and was one of only four players retained when Fred Stewart became Cardiff City’s manager in 1911.
