Description

Oakengates, Shropshire born inside or outside right Wally Brown began his football career with Oakengates Town from where he joined Walsall, making his debut, and only appearance before the Second World War in a Third Division Cup tie at Port Vale in September 1938. He then lost a significant portion of his career to the War but returned to Fellows Park in its aftermath, making his Football League debut against Queen’s Park Rangers in September 1946. He scored 4 goals in 19 matches, including a brace in a 4-2 win over Ipswich Town in September 1946, but he lost his place in February 1947, and played only once more in 1947-48 before leaving Walsall after 21 appearances over nine years.
