Fife born winger Bobby Wood began his football career with Glencraig Celtic and joined Scottish League club Falkirk in 1914. He was one of several Falkirk players to enlist as a private in The 16th Royal Scots, better known as McCrae’s Battalion, during the First World War, and he was wounded during the course of his service, but he returned to play for Falkirk in 1918-19, joining Alloa Athletic in 1920 after 10 goals in 22 appearances during Falkirk’s two post War seasons. He played for a single season for The Wasps before retirement. He was killed in a mining accident at Glencraig Colliery in 1928.
