Farrington Gurney, Somerset born full back Cyril Treasure played junior football for Paulton Rovers in 1914 but after the conclusion of The First World War he joined Second Division Bristol City in 1919, making his Football League debut at Fulham that October. For his first two seasons he was a regular in The Robins’ first eleven but lost his place in 1921 and after only one appearance in 1921-22 he left the Ashton Gate club to join Halifax Town. But he made only 8 appearances for The Shaymen in 1922-23 before returning to the south-west joining non league Taunton United in 1923.
