Description
Ibstock, Leicestershire born centre half Charlie Storer played for Ibstock Albion in 1911 and Gresley Rovers in 1912 before joining First Division Bradford City the same year, making his Football League debut against Manchester City in February 1913. He soon established a regular place in City’s first team, playing both sides of the First World War and he was a virtual ever present in the first season of peacetime football, missing only one match in City’s 1919-20 campaign. After Bradford City were relegated in 1922, he continued for two further seasons as a regular in the Second Division, scoring 13 goals in 221 appearances for The Bantams before joining Hartlepools United in the 1924 close season. He scored once in 36 appearances for Hartlepools before retiring in 1926.
