Description

Basford born full back Tom Sisson played for junior clubs Players Athletic in 1912 and Ripley Athletic in 1913 before joining First Division Notts County in 1914 as an amateur, making his Football League debut against Everton in November 1914. However the First World War interrupted his Notts County career after only 3 first team appearances and after the War he joined non league Hucknall Byron in 1919 before returning to Football League action with Gillingham in July 1920. He made 79 appearances in 3 seasons at Priestfield before moving to Barrow in November 1923, but he made only 3 appearances in Cumbria before moving to Lincoln just over a month later, making his debut on New Year’s Day 1924 at Hartlepools. He scored his only career goal in a 5-0 thumping of Ashington in September 1924, and played 80 times for The Imps before joining non league Peterborough United in 1926, moving to Sutton Town a year later.
