Glasgow born full back Finlay Sinclair began his football career in junior leagues playing with Clutha Swifts in 1890, Elderslie in 1891 and Linthouse in 1893, from where he joined Scottish League Glasgow Rangers in 1895. In June 1896 he joined Second Division Woolwich Arsenal and made his Football League debut at Manchester City the same September and playing 28 games during his one and only season at Plumstead. He joined Southern League Bristol City in the 1897 close season, after which his career details are uncertain.
