Felling, County Durham born centre or left half Bob Scorer began his football career with Felling Colliery from where he signed for Second Division club Hull City in April 1922, making his Football League debut at Wolverhampton Wanderers the same month. He failed to establish himself at Anlaby Road, making only 5 first team appearances, before moving on to Bristol Rovers in November 1923. He had more opportunity at Eastville and had made 38 appearances before signing for Wigan Borough in July 1925, where he made 25 appearances during 1925-26, joining Crewe Alexandra in April 1926 before the season end. After making 3 appearances for Crewe before the end of the season, he only featured in 5 matches in 1926-27 before joining Birmingham & District League club Shrewsbury Town in 1927, his final club before his eventual retirement.
