Description
Kelty, Fife born wing half Jack Philp started his football career with Kelty Boys in 1928 and Inverkeithing in 1929 before joining First Division Leicester City in 1932. He made his Football League debut, and only Football League appearance on 9th September 1933 in a 3-1 home defeat to Tottenham Hotspur. After 2 seasons at Filbert Street he was released and joined Rhyl Athletic in 1934, but returned to Scotland later the same year to join Alloa Athletic. After a season at Alloa he joined Raith Rovers in 1935, spending 2 seasons at Stark’s Park before heading over the Irish Sea to join Irish League Glenavon in 1937.
