Description
Winger James “Jack” Peters played for Heywood Central in 1893 from where he joined Second Division Newton Heath (Manchester United) in June 1894, making his Football League debut at Burton Wanderers that September, and being an ever present in his debut season. However he lost his place in the Newton Heath line up in February 1896 and joined Southern League New Brompton in the 1896 close season after 14 goals in 50 appearances for The Mancunians. After a single season at New Brompton he joined fellow Southern League club Sheppey United in 1897, and little is known of his career beyond this date.
