Description

Singapore born wing half Basil Patchitt was educated at Charterhouse School, playing for their first eleven from 1917 to 1919, and went tp Trinity College, Cambridge University, earning his Blue for football in 1922. He first played for The Corinthians in 1921-22, and in 1923 he was selected for England, making his international debut as captain in a win against Sweden in Stockholm in May 1923, winning a second cap in a further England win three days later, captaining his country in both the matches.

In October 1923 he played in the FA Charity Shield for The Amateurs in a 2-0 defeat to The Professionals at Stamford Bridge, however he never played for England Amateurs, and in late 1923 and 1924 he represented Midland League club Castelford Town before retiring from senior grade football.

NB in the image he stands on the right with Corinthians team mate Lionel Blaxland.
