Inverness born full back Jimmy McLean played for Inverness Clachnacuddin in 1903 from where he was signed by Second Division Bradford City, making his Football League debut at Leicester Fosse in April 1904. Although he left The Bantams in 1905 to join newly inaugurated League club Clapton Orient, he didn’t make their first eleven and returned to Valley Parade at the season end, and by the time he joined Burnley in November 1908 he had made 63 appearances for The Bantams, having played 14 times as they won the Second Division Championship in 1907-08. He had 2 seasons at Burnley making 49 appearances, but retired from professional football in the summer of 1910.
