Description
Lochwinnoch, Renfrewshire born centre half Willie McGran began his football career with Lochwinnoch North British in 1901 before joining Second Division Barnsley in the 1902 close season. He made his Football League debut against Stockport County that September but made only 7 appearances that autumn and two further appearances after the New Year before joining Beith in the summer of 1903. He joined Glasgow Rangers later the same year making 4 Inter-City League appearances in April 1904, but he quickly moved on to Airdrieonians, where he spent the next seven years and was described as “a strong, bustling player”. He finished his career with a season at Hibernian, joining them in 1911, before a move to Glasgow Ashfield in 1912.
