New Cumnock, Ayrshire born wing half Sandy McGinn joined First Division Bradford City from New Cumnock junior club Lanemark FC in 1913, making his Football League debut at home to Liverpool in April 1914. He made 2 appearances for Bradford City before World War One intervened, and a further 3 in 1919 after the War, whereupon he joined Second Division Blackpool in December 1919, spending 6 seasons at Bloomfield Road and scoring 3 goals in 144 appearances as Blackpool finished in the top 5 in 4 of his 6 seasons at the club. He moved to Halifax Town in the summer of 1925 but struggled to make much impact during his 2 seasons at The Shay, appearing only 7 times in the first team and making his last appearance for The Shaymen at Southport 2 days after Christmas, 1926, before joining non league Great Harwood the following year.
