Description

Howwood, Renfrewshire born winger Danny McGarry began his football career with Port Glasgow Juniors in 1929 before joining Scottish League Dunfermline Athletic in 1930. After 3 years at East End Park he joined Arthurlie in 1933 staying a year before joining Morton. He had four years at Cappielow before heading south in the summer of 1938 to join Barnsley, making his Football League debut in a Third Division (North) match at Oldham Athletic the same August.

He was a near ever present during his time at Oakwell, missing one game until the suspension of peacetime football due to the outbreak of the Second World War, by when he had scored 14 goals in 45 appearances for The Tykes. After the War he returned to Morton for a season in 1946, and finished off his career with a spell at Stirling Albion, joining them in 1947.
