Description
Hunslet, Yorkshire born goalkeeper Wilson Marsh played junior football for Normanton Springs in 1919 and Eckington Works in 1920 before joining First Division Chelsea where he was understudy to the likes of Colin Hampton, Jimmy Molyneux and Howard Baker. He made his Football League debut against Middlesbrough in December 1921, the only first team appearance he made that season, and he had to wait until Christmas Day 1923 for his next opportunity, when he made 11 further appearances through to February 1924. He then moved to Dundee, where he spent the next 13 years as Dundee’s principal glovesman, before moving to Kilmarnock in 1937, where he finished his career, already well into his 40’s.
