Description
Greenhill, Falkirk, Stirlingshire born centre half Alex Lowe joined hometown Scottish League club Falkirk from Bonnybridge Juniors and his performances for The Bairns impressed the Scotland selectors enough that he was awarded a full cap for Scotland in a 2-1 defeat to Ireland at Celtic Park in September 1933, his only Scottish international cap. He left Falkirk for Workington and also played south of the border for Tunbridge Wells Rangers but returned to Scotland with Raith Rovers. At the time of his international selection, it was said of him “His forte is defence in the modern fashion of centre half play, and he can always be depended upon to clear his lines. Low is especially good in headwork and has capital speed in recovery.”
