Wallsend, Northumberland born left back Angus Livingstone began his football career with Walker Park in 1933 and played for Walker Celtic in 1934 before joining Third Division (North) club Gateshead in November 1935, making his Football League debut against Halifax Town on Christmas Day, soon establishing himself as Gateshead’s regular left back. He scored his only career goal in a 4-2 win at Wrexham in February 1936 and made 106 appearances for Gateshead until the outbreak of the Second World War forced the abandonment of peacetime football. By the time football resumed after the War he had retired.
