Liverpool born inside forward Billy Kirsopp joined hometown club Everton in April 1914 from Wallasey Borough making his First Division debut against Tottenham Hotspur in January 1915 and scoring in a 1-1 draw at Goodison Park. He bagged 10 goals in 21 games in what was left of peacetime football but when it returned in 1919 he resumed with Everton top scoring at Goodison Park with 14 goals in 29 games. However in May 1921 he transferred to Bury after 29 goals in 63 games for The Toffees. At Bury the goals dried up, just one in 21 appearances during 1921-22, and in September 1922 he joined Grimsby Town, where he scored twice in 7 matches. He then returned to Merseyside in May 1923 to join New Brighton in their first season as a Football League club but scored only once in 16 matches, before joining non league Oswestry Town in 1924.
