Renton, Dunbartonshire born full back Tommy Kelso began his professional career with Third Lanark in 1904 before signing for Manchester City in 1906 having made 21 appearances. He made his Football League debut for Manchester City in September 1906 in a 4-1 defeat against Arsenal, spending 6 seasons at Hyde Road scoring 3 goals in 151 appearances, during which time he suffered relegation with City in 1909, but played 28 League games as City bounced back immediately, winning the Second Division Championship in 1910. In 1912 he returned to Scotland to join Dundee and while at Dens Park he won his only Scotland cap in February 1914 in a 0-0 draw against Wales at Celtic Park. After scoring 5 goals in 37 appearances he joined Rangers in 1914, making 22 appearances for The Gers, before spells at Dumbarton, where he made 12 appearances between 1915 and 1919, and finally Abercorn, whom he joined in 1919 before retirement.
